ECC Rules & Policies


EUFAULA COMMUNITY CENTER CODE OF CONDUCT:

Purpose:
The Eufaula Community Center aims to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all guests. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior and responsibilities of everyone utilizing the facility.

 

By participating in activities at the Eufaula Community Center, all members and guests agree to abide by the following rules:

1. Respectful Behavior

  • Treat all staff, members, and guests with respect and courtesy.
  • Engage in positive communication; no foul language, no rude, abusive, or threatening language or behaviors will be tolerated.

2. Inclusivity and Diversity

  • Embrace and respect the diversity of all individuals. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be accepted.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes everyone.

3. Facility Use

  • A membership card or daily use fee, along with a sign-in at the front desk is required to enter the facility unless enrolled in a special program.
  • Follow all posted rules and guidelines specific to each area of the facility.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or unsafe conditions to staff immediately.

4. Health and Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene while utilizing the facilities.
  •  Adhere to all cleaning and sanitizing protocols specific to the area of the facility you are using, including but not limited to fitness equipment, sauna, and other communal spaces.
  • Ensure that you follow any posted instructions for cleanliness to promote a safe environment for all users

5. Proper Attire

  • Dress appropriately at all times. Attire should be suitable for the specific area of the facility being used (e.g., sports-wear & proper gym shoes in fitness areas, swimsuits in pool area & sauna).

6. Personal Belongings

  • Keep personal belongings in designated areas (i.e. lockers); the Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 7. Conflict Resolution

  • Address conflicts or misunderstandings in a constructive manner.
  • If necessary, seek assistance from staff to mediate disputes or concerns.

8. Compliance with Staff Directives

  • Follow instructions and directives given by Community Center staff. Their authority in maintaining a safe and effective environment must be respected.

9. Participation in Events

  • Engage actively and positively in Community Center events, programs, and activities.
  • Respect the schedules and limitations of all programs and activities.

10. Zero Tolerance Policy

  • Any behavior that undermines the community atmosphere, such as vandalism, theft, substance abuse, threats or violence, will result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include suspension or expulsion from the facility.

Acknowledgment:
By using the Eufaula Community Center, members and guests acknowledge that they have read and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in suspension of privileges or other disciplinary actions.


General Areas

Must be 16 years or older to enter the facility without an adult (Fitness room-must be 18 or older to enter OR a MEMBER, supervised by a PARENT.)

If 15 years and younger, must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older who accepts full responsibility for minor.

No loitering - all persons in the facility must be using a specific area.

Shoes, shirts and pants/skirts/shorts must be worn in ALL areas except when in the aquatics area.

Undergarments should not be visible!


Community Room

Children under the age of 16 permitted only with an adult.

Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.

Foul language will result in removal from the facility.

When participating in athletic events, athletic shoes must be worn.

Full court play only when permitted by staff.

Dunking or hanging on the goals is not permitted!

Moving the basketball goals is not permitted.

Upper Track/Community Room

Standing or stopping on the track is prohibited unless it is an emergency.

No sprinting during heavy use hours.

Strollers are not permitted on upper track (must use lower track).

Children under the age of 16 permitted only with an adult.

Athletic shoes only.

Please remove all trash and belongings before exiting track.


Fitness Room

Must be 18 years or older to enter OR a MEMBER, supervised by a PARENT.

Food or glass containers are not permitted in the fitness room.

No slamming or dropping weight stacks or hand weights.

Please sanitize equipment when finished.

Please be courteous of others and listen to music through earbuds only.

Please put all equipment back where it belongs.

Proper attire is required - shirts, shorts or sweats, and shoes.

Anyone found abusing the equipment will be asked to leave.

TV channels are not to be changed.


Aquatics

Must be 16 years or older to enter the pool without an adult. If 15 years an younger, must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older who accepts full responsibility for minor (adult does not have to enter the water but must supervise pool-side).

Listen to the lifeguards!

Swimmers must wear appropriate swimming attire - females must wear swimsuits - males must wear swim trunks with a drawstring and lining - no cut-offs or other clothing permitted while swimming in the pool unless for proven medical reasons.

No squirt guns allowed.

No arm floaties allowed. These deflate often & slide off the arms. If child is a non-swimmer & needs assistance, they may borrow ECC back-floats.

No hard balls allowed.

No diving!!

No jumping from deck when pool is overcrowded.

Personal noodles ARE allowed.

Patrons must shower before entering the water.

No one may enter the water with open sores.

Running, horseplay, or profanity is not allowed.

Food may not be taken into the aquatics area.

Wet clothing is not allowed outside of the aquatics area.

Shoes and shirt required before leaving the aquatics area.

Children under the age of 2 must wear a swim diaper (these are not provided).

SAUNA RULES

Sauna is strictly for those that are 18+ years old.

No food or drink-other than water-is allowed in the sauna.

Never wear any creams or lotions.

Bring a clean, cotton towel to sit on. This will help keep you clean and comfortable, as well as protect the benches from body oils.

Do not eat, drink alcohol, or take drugs before your sauna session as you could become nauseated, dizzy and may become unconscious.

The benches and floors may be slippery, use caution when moving around the sauna.

Never spray water on the stones when there are people near the stove, the quick rise of the hot steam may cause burns.

To prevent dehydration, drink plenty of water before, during and after the sauna.

Do not stay in the sauna for longer than 10 to 15 minutes. Taking a break, 5-10 minutes is advised before re-entering.

Leave the sauna immediately if you start to feel dizzy, nauseous, or lightheaded, and let a member of staff know you are not feeling well.

Do not use the sauna if you have an open wound.

Pregnant women should consult with their doctor before using the sauna.

Sauna is not recommended for persons with blood pressure and heart issues.

Never wear any jewelry in the sauna and make sure your swimsuit does not contain any metal parts. The metal may heat up and could cause burns.

Do not hang clothes out to dry in the Sauna, as this may cause a risk of fire.

It is important you abide by health and safety guidelines every time you visit the sauna.
