Free Pickleball Lessons:

Interested in learning how to play pickleball or improve your game? Then you are in luck! Earl Fuhrman, one of our regular pickleball players, is offering free lessons at Eufaula's outdoor city courts just off South Eufaula Avenue and at the Eufaula Community Center (Thurs only). Fuhrman is a skilled player who is volunteering his time to help grow pickleball in Eufaula by introducing the game to newbies and improving the skill level of intermediate players. If you have never played the game, he will explain the basics to you in simple terms that will be easy to understand. The lessons are offered from 6 to 8 PM CT Monday through Friday, weather permitting, starting on July 18th. No reservations are needed. If you have a pickleball paddle, bring it. If not, we will find one to loan to you. Balls will be provided. Dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. You will find a foldable chair useful when not playing and should bring some water to stay hydrated.
The City of Eufaula has applied for grant funds to build eight outdoor courts. If the grant is awarded, the courts should be available for play sometime in mid-2023. We are hoping that these new courts will be used often by new and existing pickleball players in the coming years.
If you have any questions, I will be happy to try to answer them. Doug Purcell (dcpurcell@gmail.com).
We hope you will take advantage of these free lessons. You will not regret it!
